A personalised consultation, treatment plan, implant placement, and the final restoration, resulting in a restored and functional smile.
Get in TouchYour first visit will be for an initial consultation, during which we will discuss your concerns and objectives, and what implant treatment options are available, to find the best solution for you. This will include discussing the pros and cons of the options, so that you can make an informed decision.
Your initial consultation will take approximately one hour, and we will need to take some details about your medical and dental histories and conduct a thorough examination of your mouth. I will ask you what you want to achieve as an outcome, and how we can help you achieve your goal. I will scan the inside of your mouth using our digital scanner, which allows us to produce 3D images of your mouth. We may also require an x-ray, which is included in the consultation fee. Following the consultation, I will give you a summary of the possible treatment options with estimated costs.
If you are happy to proceed, we will need to obtain a CBCT, a 3-dimensional x-ray which gives us a detailed image of your jaw anatomy and bone structure. This can often be done at the same appointment and there is an additional fee for a CBCT. The CBCT enables us to assess thoroughly and plan your treatment in detail. I will then discuss the implant treatment options available to you, including the benefits and potential drawbacks related to the treatment.
In some cases, more than one appointment is required to gather all the necessary information. There is no additional charge for the surgery time if a second appointment is necessary.
Once you have reviewed the report, we can have another discussion to address any questions or concerns you may have. If you feel the need for a follow-up appointment to further clarify any queries, there will be no extra charge for this. It is crucial that you have ample time to discuss and comprehend the treatment process, and my goal is to ensure that all your inquiries are resolved before proceeding with any treatment.

This involves a minor surgical procedure and is carried out under local anaesthetic. If you are very nervous, Intra-Venous Sedation can also be used to help you relax. This procedure usually takes between one and two hours and is painless due to the local anaesthetic. Some stitches are usually placed, which need to be removed after 1-2 weeks. You may experience a small amount of discomfort following the appointment, but this will subside within a few days and healing will occur relatively quickly following suture removal. The implant(s) will then need around 3 months for bone to integrate with it, through a process known as osteointegration.
After the implant has integrated with the bone, the restoration process begins. Impressions of the mouth are taken to create a custom-fit restoration for the implant. In some cases, an initial prototype restoration may be placed first to ensure proper function and aesthetics before the final restoration is fitted. The entire process will require 2 or more visits to complete the treatment.
After the treatment is finished, we will take x-rays of the implant and schedule a follow-up appointment within the next 12 months, which is included in the fees. Ongoing care and maintenance are crucial for maintaining optimal oral health, particularly around the implants. Regular check-ups and visits to a hygienist are the best way to achieve this. We can help to arrange these appointments for you, either as individual visits or as part of our Dental Care plan.
